My Approach with Adults
As a licensed social worker (LSWAIC) and certified child life specialist (CCLS), I take great pride in the opportunity to journey with adults and families toward healing. My approach to therapy with adults draws on my experience in hospice and bereavement settings, healthcare settings, and 1:1 therapy. As your therapist, I will strive to empower you to integrate grief, loss, pain and trauma into your current existence, allowing you to not only survive, but to thrive. I operate from a person-centered, attachment theory lens, and my therapeutic style is warm, relational, and collaborative. I support adults facing a range of challenging life experiences, including parenting, grief and loss, trauma, medical complexities, gender and sexual identity issues, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. In my work with adults, I draw from an eclectic range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also rely heavily on the work of Dr. Brene Brown.
